At this point in the season, 12 years ago, the Warriors had been left for dead.
Only 4 games separated them and the 7th place Clippers, but they had just had a really bad stretch, losing 8 out of 10, including to some of the league’s basement teams. No one gave them a shot.
They would win 16 of their final 21 games, 9 of their final 10 games, passing up both the Kings and the Clippers on their way to the 8 seed.
From there, they shocked the world, taking down the #1 seed, 67-win Mavericks, in 6.
Could this year’s Lakers with LeBron replicate this?
